Māori language week

 The Maori language

From  Mon, 13 Sep 2021 – Sun, 19 Sep 2021, it's Maori language week! This whole week embraces Maori culture and teaches people about traditions and most importantly language. Learning Te Reo Māori helps people discover a whole new culture.  They discover more ways of learning, more ways of knowing, and more about their own limits. They may even look at their first language and compare it to te Reo Maori. The Maori langPākehā were in the majority by the early 1860s and English became the dominant language of New Zealand. Increasingly, te reo was confined to Māori communities that lived separately from Pākehā.uage originates from eastern Polynesia where the Maori came from.
